GEOSOL is a company established in 2001 by project development and financing specialists with background experience in investment funds and photovoltaics. The company‘s founders have many years of experience as fund initiators.



Set up in August 2004, the “Leipziger Land” solar power plant was the world’s largest at the time, with a capacity of 5 MWp. It was followed by the “Borna” solar plant just a few kilometres away, with an installed capacity of 3.5 MWp.

Parallel to this, another solar power plant was built in Kappel-Grafenhausen in the state of Baden-Württemberg, with an installed capacity of 1.6 MWp. It has been fully operational since 2005.

After Germany came Spain. GEOSOL IBÉRICA, based in Granada/Andalusia, is one of the leading project developers on the Iberian Peninsula. As of 2008, GEOSOL IBÉRICA has 11 solar energy power plants with a total capacity of 20 megawatts.

In Italy, we have been present on the market since December 2007. GEOSOL ITALIA, based in Rome, has been cooperating with Italian engineers to develop its first solar energy power plants in Apulia and other regions.

Czech Republic is also opening up its photovoltaics sector. GEOSOL CZECH, based in Prague, is present on the Czech market since 2008.
